The book of Colossians is one of the richest treasures in the New Testament because it paints a beautiful picture of who Jesus Christ is, as well as what He has done for us. In this book, we see Jesus as Creator, Savior, King, Reconciler, and Victor; One who, although He suffered the penalty for our sins, rose as King of the Universe. Knowing who Christ is and what He’s done for us helps clarify who we are in God’s redemptive plan. Knowing Him helps us know ourselves. But more importantly, when we know the truth about Christ’s identity and work, it builds in us a confident hope, “an anchor for the soul, firm and steadfast” so we can rejoice in the eternal glory we share in Christ.
